Current voice AI cannot hold real conversations. It requires walkie-talkie style turns, doesn't understand or respond to users' emotions and has an inconsistent personality (random "mood swings").
This makes it hard for users to trust and connect with AI, so they disengage. This limits voice AI to mostly transactional business calls, and blocks access to meaningful human services (therapy, coaching & sales) that require genuine dialogue and emotional connection. Scaling current tech will not solve this.
